April 28, St. Joseph’s Catholic Secondary School’s Home Economics classroom buzzed with enthusiasm as volunteers and members of the Boys and Girls Club (BGC) of Cornwall/SDG decorated cookies for a sweet cause. The Smile Cookie campaign, running from April 29 to May 5, will funnel 100 per cent of its proceeds from local Tim Hortons in Cornwall and Lancaster directly to BGC’s local programming.

Jacquie Richards, Executive Director of BGC Cornwall/SDG, shared her excitement about the campaign’s impact and the fundraiser’s critical role in sustaining BGC’s efforts. “The impact of Smile Cookies for the local BGC is tremendous. It helps our programming be accessible to youth who need it the most, ensuring we can operate year-round, expand our locations, and enhance staff training,” she explained. “Every time someone purchases a Smile Cookie, it’s helping put a smile on a child’s face,” Richards concluded.
