Cornwall, Ontario – The fourth annual Tampon Tuesday ended with a product drive on March 26, to collect menstrual hygiene products for those in need. Hosted at Shoppers Drug Mart on Brookdale Avenue, the event saw a Cornwall Transit bus being filled with donations.

Stephanie Lapointe, Campaign and Communication Manager at United Way/Centraide of Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry, emphasized the initiative’s significance. “In Canada, 1 in 4 people face the tough decision of choosing between buying menstrual products and other basic needs like rent and food. We believe that this is a choice that no one should have to make,” she stated.

The collected items will be distributed to organizations across the region, with contributions from groups such as Walmart Logistics, Dollar Tree, Smiles On Seventh, Starbucks, St. Lawrence College, and more. The event highlights the importance of access to menstrual products, a necessity that should not lead to financial sacrifices.
