Patients undergoing cancer treatment at Winchester District Memorial Hospital (WDMH) will soon benefit from a major donation to the WDMH Foundation’s Cancer Care Fund – thanks to the Dairy Producers of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry and the generosity of local community members.
At the annual Dairy Cares 4 SD&G event held in April, $78,305.29 was presented to the WDMH Foundation. The same amount was donated to Cornwall Community Hospital and Glengarry Memorial Hospital. The event included an amazing live band and a live auction with everything from a Mont Tremblant stay to actual chickens! Brandon Scheepers did a great job revving up the crowd.
At the event, Justine Plummer, WDMH Foundation Manager of Direct Mail and Events, shared the importance of these types of generous events: “Winchester District Memorial Hospital is here for you and we are grateful that you are here for the hospital. We are honoured to work with amazing community members who live and work in our local communities – including hard-working farmers! You truly make a difference and tonight’s support of the three local hospitals in our region will now do even more.”
Thank you to the organizers, sponsors and supporters who made this such a wonderful night for health care in our region!
