CORNWALL, Ontario – On Sept. 10, 2019 at approximately 9:35 p.m., the Cornwall Police Service (CPS) was called to investigate a motor vehicle collision in the area of Boundary Road and the Highway 401 overpass. The collision involved two transport trucks and no serious injuries were sustained as a result of the collision.

Due to a quantity of oil and fuel being spilt as a result of the collision, clean-up crews are diligently working on scene to recover the area.  The area is expected to be closed to traffic for the next two-three hours to facilitate the necessary clean-up.

The following areas are currently closed to traffic:

  • Boundary Rd. is closed from the north side of the overpass to the south side of the overpass
  • Hwy 401 west-bound off-ramp is closed
  • Hwy 401 west-bound on-ramp is closed
  • All Glen Rd. traffic will be directed north-bound on Boundary Rd.

The CPS is asking motorists to please avoid the area and plan for an alternate route of travel for the next 2-3 hours. The public will be advised when the road has re-opened for traffic.

The investigation is ongoing at this time. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact Constable Patrick Depratto of the Traffic Unit by calling 613-933-5000 ext. 2734.

We appreciate the cooperation of the public as we work to re-open the area to traffic.
