CORNWALL, Ontario – Members of Construction Workers, Local 52, employed by CMG Innovation in Summerstown have voted with a strong majority in favour of a renewed collective agreement.
Local 52 is affiliated with the Christian Labour Association of Canada (CLAC).
Highlights of the three-year agreement, which covers approximately 20 employees, include cost-of-living wage increases, increases to boot and tool allowances, travel pay, and overtime pay.
“The negotiations went well and we are pleased with the outcome,” says Cody Lychak, CLAC field representative. “We look forward to three more years of steady work and fair compensation under this new agreement.”
CMG employs carpenters, labourers, and operators and specializes in renovations, restorations, plant work, asbestos removal, and abatement.
CLAC is an independent Canadian labour union representing over 55,000 workers in a wide range of sectors―construction, health care, retail, service, transportation, manufacturing, and others.
