The OPP had originally stated that the suspects were being searched for in Bainsville, but later said Long Sault.

SOUTH STORMONT, Ontario – On Aug. 19, 2019 at approximately 6:00 p.m. a Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (SD&G OPP) officer attempted to stop a vehicle following a report of an interaction between that vehcile and the Surete Du Quebec Police. The vehicle had fled into Ontario onto Hwy 401, South Glengarry Township.

SD&G OPP officers located the involved vehicle near Power Dam Drive on Hwy 401. The vehicle then failed to comply with the request to stop and continued on, striking one of the police vehicles.

The suspect vehicle then entered the eastbound lanes, while travelling westbound, and exited at Moulinette Rd., South Stormont. The vehicle was located abandoned in the area a time later.

No injuries were suffered by officers.

Officers were then able to locate the driver and passenger a short distance away. Police recovered stolen property from the vehicle and drugs (Methamphetamine).

Matthew Steele, age 22 of Guelph, ON was arrested and is charged with:

– Flight while pursued by peace officers

– Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle

– Fail to Comply with conditions of a probation order (two counts)

– Operation while prohibited

– Possession of property obtained by crime – under $5,000

– Fail to stop after an accident

– Mischief over $5,000

– Possession of a controlled substance

He was held in custody (bail) and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

Adlyn Miller, age (26 of Burlington, ON was arrested and is charged with:

– Fail to Comply with conditions of a undertaking

– Possession of property obtained by crime – under $5,000

– Possession of a controlled substance

She was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall Court on Sept. 26, 2019.
