CORNWALL, Ontario – Residents will have a chance to offer input into the future of the former Domtar mill site during an upcoming open house.

Paris Holdings and Fotenn Planning + Design are holding a Community Open House on Tuesday, October 25th from 5:30 pm to 9 pm at the Cornwall Civic Complex (Salon B).

The event will give interested residents and business owners a chance to learn more about the long term vision and plan for the former 80-acre mill site and provide valued input.

“The former Domtar mill site is a key parcel of land and the redevelopment of the property will have significant impacts on Cornwall for decades to come,” said Ken Bedford, Planning Division Supervisor. “This open house offers a great opportunity for residents to get involved in the process and help shape Cornwall’s future.”

Attendees will have a chance to review presentation boards showcasing initial concepts for the property. There will be a short presentation at 6:30 pm outlining the visioning exercise, the planning process and next steps. That will be followed by a facilitated roundtable discussion.

“We encourage all interested residents to join us as we work together to realize a new vision for this important piece of land along Cornwall’s waterfront,” said Michael Stott, Director Urban Design and Landscape Architecture at Fotenn.
