CORNWALL, Ontario – Windell King, age 36, of Akwesasne, Ontario, was arrested on June 5, 2017. On June 4, 2017, he was located by police in the area of Water Street and Augustus Street.
It is alleged he was operating a stolen motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He fled the area driving erratically. A police pursuit ensued however was terminated for public safety.
While continuing the investigation at the Seaway International Bridge toll booth, police observed the motor vehicle break through the gate, travelling at a high rate of speed, headed into Cornwall.
Police intercepted the motor vehicle on Second Street West where the male attempted to flee on foot however was apprehended and taken into custody. Several marihuana plants were found to be in his possession in the motor vehicle.
He was also implicated in relation to a shoplifting incident on May 31, 2017 at the Cornwall Square. He was charged accordingly and held for a Bail Hearing.
