MAY – Shirley

Passed away peacefully at Winchester District Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at the age of 73 years. Beloved wife of the late Clifford May. Predeceased by her parents Albert Rouselle and Maggie (Margaret) Bell (née Pottery). Survived by brothers Albert Russell of Maxville, Earl Russell of Ottawa and Stuart Russell of Cornwall, sisters Elaine (James) Kyer, Doris (Yvan) Bourdeau, Verna Rouselle, Edna Russell and Jean Douglas all of Cornwall, and sisters Lorna (Richard) Carleton of Manotick and Mona Rouselle of Ottawa. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Annabelle Lafrance and brother Gary Russell. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 20 in the Chapel of Brownlee Funeral Home, 18 Front St., Finch (613-984-2234) at 1 p.m. Inurnment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Newington. For those wishing, donations to the O.S.P.C.A., the Canadian Cancer Society or the Ottawa Heart Institute would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.

ALGUIRE – Allan Ross

Passed away at Sandfield Place Nursing Home on Thursday, July 16, 2009 at the age of 86 years. Beloved husband of 54 years to Irene (Phillips) Alguire. Loved father of William Hope (Beverley), Barbara Delo (Bill Eamer), Becky Brownell (Orval), Donna Seguin (Gerald), Dean Alguire (Dorothy) all of Cornwall; Phillip Alguire (Heather) of Long Sault and Margie Ainslie (Steve) of Kanata. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Dear son of the late Ross and Bea (Eamer) Alguire. Predeceased by his first wife Dolly Hall, son Perry Alguire and brother Lyall Alguire. Resting at Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt St. (613-938-3888). Visitation will be held on Friday, July 17 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday, July 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Funeral service will be held in Trinity Anglican Church on Saturday, July 18 at 10 a.m. Interment in St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery, Long Sault. SPROULE – Grace (née Bender)

Passed away suddenly in hospital on Wednesday, July 8, 2009, age 82 years. Wife of Chester Sproule of Chesterville for 64 years. Dear mother of Sheila VandeKemp (Wally) of Douglas, Arny Sproule (Karen) of Alberta, Dale Sproule (Elsie) of Kemptville, David Sproule (Laureen) of Alberta, Penny Vanier (Al) of Berwick, Rick Sproule of Ottawa, Kenneth Sproule (Pat) of Greely and Bonnie Provost (Shane) of Vars. Survived by 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, her sisters, Fern Heard-Cardinal (Carm) and Hazel Campbell (Lawrence) of Cornwall and her brother, Russel Bender (Dorothy) of Gatineau, Quebec. Predeceased by her parents, Carl and Mabel (Colbran) Bender, one son, Ranald Sproule and two brothers, Lindsay and Jimmie Bender. The Funeral was held at Daniels Funeral Chapels, Winchester.
