Again this year, local artists will offer their talents to the community on Canada Day. At noon dignitaries will gather for the singing of the National Anthem by the talented Dreamkid singers.
But all the fun starts at 12:30 p.m. with Beat Central Dance Company led by the talented Jane Hennessey Craibe.
At 1 p.m. Chuck Leclair will add to the summer sunshine with his mixture of folk and rock music in his acoustic set. Leclair is a local entertainer who is always willing to perform at any venue and often donates his talent from local senior homes to grand stand performances.
At 1:45 p.m., local rock and blues singer Carey Grant and the Rock and Roll Experience will be taking the audience through a time warp of music from Beatles to a few songs of today.
At 3 p.m. Jessica Bourbonnais with the French band Touché will be entertaining the crowd with a unique blend of French folk music along with some of today’s popular Franco tunes. The band features fun, fiddles and French music. Joining the band this year will be guest star Philip St. Arnaud.
At 3:45 p.m. is a special treat for the young and young at heart with the group Flowdroidz. This high energy vocal group performs everything from the latest rap songs to contemporary popular music. Flowdroidz features Brianna Snider who is considered by far one of the greatest vocalists to come out of this area.
At 4:30 p.m. local boy from Chris Benton from Glassnote records in New York City hits the stage. Chris has toured the country several times and has played with bands that including Kingston’s Everlea, The Crofter’s, and another Kingston-based band Smaller On You. Chris has also toured alongside Lights, Secondhand Serenade, Taking Back Sunday, among others.
At 5:15 p.m. Rebecca Skye will be performing a mixture of R & B, popular French songs, and even the odd fiddle song for the Celtic fans. Rebecca has performed everywhere from Dallas, Texas to opening of the Canada Day Festivities in Ottawa.
At 6:15 p.m. is the band Smokin’ Mirrors. This local group has been entertaining audiences for years with their smooth classic rock styling. Fronting the band is the highly entertaining Donovan St. Denis.
At 7:30 p.m. we have the group Shot In The Dark featuring the talented and beautiful Tammy McRae. This band of seasoned Musicians have years of experience in concerts, night clubs, radio and television.
At 8:45 p.m. veteran rocker Kelly (the voice) Heenan fronts the retro dynamic super group Lost Boyz, which features nothing but 80s music.
In the Children’s Tent there will be an endless supply of great entertainment and fun events for the kids. Everything from a hilarious magic show, to some of the best kid’s songs of all time.
Everyone loves Little Ray’s Reptiles, as well as a new dynamic Petting Zoo. There will be face painting. At 2 p.m. there will also be a fun non-competitive talent show where all kids can get up sing a song, tell a joke, do a dance, and best of all it is all free.
