HOT OFF THE PRESS: New edition of Cornwall Living

CORNWALL, Ontario – The wait is over! Cornwall Living has a new edition available.

TC Media – Cornwall and Seaway News are proud to announce that the area’s most sought-after magazine showcasing community leaders, the city’s diverse culture, and profiles on thriving businesses has hit the streets.

But you can’t separate Cornwall from its rich francophone community and the neighbouring counties of Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SDG).

Denis Lapierre, TC Media sales manager, along with his advertising team, and Cornwall Mayor Bob Kilger unveiled the 21st edition of Cornwall Living Wednesday to a lively crowd at Schnitzels European Flavours.

Lapierre recounted his conversation with Bob Peters, senior development officer for Cornwall Economic Development, about Cornwall Living’s raison d’etre.

“We need to be proud of our community and at times there are people who may not neccessarily see the residence and the talent we have here in Cornwall in such a positive light, but it’s our opportunity to promote that,” said Lapierre.

Rick Shaver, Cornwall Living’s publisher, described the 100-page 2014 edition as having more amazing photos from local photographers than ever.

“We’re bringing Cornwall to the world,” said Shaver.

Colleen Parette spent countless hours designing the annual publication, on top of leading her department’s weekly print edition.

“It’s an honour putting together Cornwall’s elite magazine,” said Parette, production coordinator at Seaway News.

Todd Lihou, editor of the weekly print and online publication, captured the heart of the commmunity through a series of tight-knit anecdotes, detailed articles, and funny commentary. Simply skimming through won’t be enough.

Lihou thanked Terry Besner, SDG’s economic development and communications officer, for her invaluable input.

Besides being the most colourful edition yet, this year’s cover features NHL player and Long Sault native Jesse Winchester.

“Being on the cover is a real honour,” said Winchester, 30. “There’s so many talented people in this town and community. I love coming back here each and every summer, both myself and Alana.

“I travel all over the world playing the game that I love…but this is home.”

Cornwall Living is published by the Seaway News and has an overall circulation of 30,000. The magazine is a collaboration of advertisers, writers, photographers, and Seaway News staff members.
