LAFRANCE – Rhéal

Passed away at the Glen-Stor-Dun Lodge on Tuesday, July 1, 2008. Mr. Rhéal Lafrance of Cornwall, Ontario, age 84 years. Beloved husband of 55 years to Huguette (Lapalme) Lafrance. Dear father of Johanne Lafrance-Cardinal (Jean-Luc), Normand Lafrance (Marie-Claude), Gizanne Allaire (Marc) and François Lafrance (Julie-Anne). Loving grandfather of 9 grandchildren: Pierre-Luc, Marie-Josée, Renée-Claude, Nicholas, Martin, Chloé, Colin, Fabienne and Antoine. Dear son of the late Aquila Lafrance and the late Emilia (Matte) Lafrance. Dear chosen son of the late Yvonne (Moïse) Lafrance. Dear brother of Estelle Therrien, Gabrielle Lafrance, Pauline Champagne, Lucienne Leroux and Jacques Lafrance. Predeceased by Jena-Pierre Lafrance and Jeannine DelaBousediere. PHOENIX – Blanche A. (née Clément) 1907-2008

Passed away at St. Joseph’s Villa in Cornwall, Ontario on Monday, June 30, 2008, age 101 years. Daughter of the late James Clément and Henriette (Beaudoin) Clément of Embrun, Ontario. Predeceased by husbands, Rosaire Gauthier of Timmins, Ontario and Rhéal Phoenix of Cornwall. Mrs. Phoenix is survived by one sister-in-law, Mrs. Thelma Gauthier of Kingston, Ontario, one nephew, Mr. Fernand Poupart of Timmins and numerous loving grand-nephews and grand-nieces in Canada and the U.S.A. Before moving to Cornwall in 1979, Mrs. Phoenix lived and worked in Val Gagné and Timmins for many years. Rested at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, East Branch. Funeral July 4, for Mass of Christian Burial in Nativity Co-Cathedral, followed by Cremation.

FRANCIS – Louis

Passed away at the Ottawa Hospital, General Campus on Sunday, June 29, 2008. Mr. Louis Johnny Francis of Akwesasne, age 59 years. Beloved son of the late Joseph Francis and the late Annie (Leborghe) Francis. Dear brother of Mary Francis of Cornwall, Ontario, Hazel Debo of Brockville, Ontario, Margaret Francis and Paul Francis both of Cornwall, John Francis of Chesterville, Ontario, Elizabeth Gagne of Cornwall, Thomas Francis of Snye, Theresa Liscomb of Cornwall and Michael Francis of Montreal, Quebec. Passed away at Parisien manor on Saturday, June 28, 2008, age 72 years. Beloved daughter of the late John William Roach and the late Sarah Jane (Lascelle) Roach. Cherished sister of Gladys Gareau and Kenny Roach both of Cornwall, Ontario. Predeceased by four brothers, John, James, Clarence and Gordon Roach and by four sisters, Loretta Archambault, Beatrice Roach, Lucy Faubert and Doris Roach. Passed away peacefully at Janet Macdonell Pavilion on Friday, June 27, 2008 at the age of 91 years. Predeceased by her husband James Joustra (1993). Peacefully at Sherwood Park Manor, Brockville on Friday, June 27, 2008 at the age of 83 years. She is survived by her daughter Kristine (Martin) Kettlewell of Brampton and her grandchildren Katara, Katrina, Jessica, Sheena and Tosha. Predeceased by her son Kevin Whaley. Funeral took place on Thursday, July 3. Interment at St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery.

RICHER – Mona (Ouellette)

Passed away at Versa Care Centre on Friday, June 27, 2008 at the age of 72 years. Beloved wife of Hurley Richer. Dear mother of Dennis Richer (Tammy) and Steven Richer (Gaye Adams). Loving grandmother of Kelsey and Jared Richer. Dear sister of Roger Ouellette (Diane) and Donald Ouellette (Micheline). Predeceased by her parents Arthur and Fredeline Ouellette and brothers Roland, Gilbert, Roma and Genard. Rested at Wilson Funeral Home. Passed away at Glen-Stor-Dun Lodge on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the age of 96 years. Beloved husband of the late Viola (Lapointe) Menard. Dear father of Claude Menard. Sadly missed by one grandson Jeffrey Menard. Predeceased by his parents Telesphore and Elizabeth (Richard) Menard, and by four brothers Henri, Richard, Rene and Leon Menard and one sister Germaine Allaire. Passed away at Glen-Stor-Dun Lodge on Thursday, June 26, 2008. Mr. Lucien Joseph Beauregard formerly of Cornwall at the age of 97 years. Beloved husband of the late Emillienne (Gagné) Beauregard. Dear father of Jeannine Baker (late Kenneth), Yolande Legault (Robert), Liette Groulx (Conrad) and Yvon Beauregard (Iona) all of Cornwall. Predeceased by one son Marcel Beauregard (Beverley) of Cornwall. Loving grandfather of 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Predeceased by two grandsons and one granddaughter. Dear son of the late Amédé Beauregard and the late Elizabeth (Huneault) Beauregard. Dear chosen son of the late Georgiana (Dupuis) Beauregard. Dear brother of Cécile Leroux, René Beauregard (Lucienne) and Reina Guay all of Cornwall. Predeceased by three brothers Ernest, Royal, Aldonat Beauregard and by two sisters, Yvette Crites and Laurette Parent. Rested at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes East Branch. DELORME – David

Suddenly on Tuesday, June 24, 2008. Mr. David Delorme formerly of Cornwall at the age of 43 years. Dear father of Jesse and Mariah both of Cornwall. Loving grandfather of Lance and Hunter. Dear son of Maurice and Gisele Delorme of Cornwall and Richard and Rita Acheson of Cornwall. Dear brother of Brenda Gould (Eric) of Cornwall and step-brother of Deborah Lalonde of Berwick, Christine Ouderkirk of Finch, David Acheson of Toronto and Denis Acheson of Cornwall. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral took place on Monday, June 30 for service in the memorial chapel of Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Home West Branch.

OUELLETTE – Marcel

Passed away after a long courageous battle with lung disease on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Cornwall Community Hospital in his 62nd year. Beloved husband for 35 years of Christie-Ann (Drouin) Ouellette. Cherished father of Steve Ouellette (Josée Rancourt) of Embrun, Nancy Ouellette of Toronto and Eric Ouellette (Geneviève Rancourt) of Cornwall. Loving Pepère of Jordan, Marie-Eve and Justin. Dear brother of Noel Ouellette (Agathe) of Chelsey, Quebec. Dear uncle of Denise and Christine Ouellette and their families of Montreal, Quebec. He also leaves the Lafleur family. Dear brother-in-law of Elizabeth Drouin (Larry). Sadly missed by his precious Godchild Danik (Natalie Seguin) and their children Arianne and Noah. Predeceased by his parents Oscar and Yvette (Brosseau) Ouellette, one brother Gilles Ouellette and his in-laws Eugene and Blance (Lepage) Drouin. A private graveside service was held on Friday, June 27 at Notre Dame Cemetery.
