CORNWALL, Ontario – Jacob Benoit, 19, of Cornwall was arrested on July 18. 2018 and was charged with breach of recognizance and theft under $5000 X2.
The Cornwall Community Police Service (CCPS) allege that the man failed to report to police as required on June 26, 2018 and they further allege that he stole lighters and meat from local merchants.
On July 18 a member of the CCPS went to the Cornwall Courthouse, where Benoit was in custody on an unrelated charges and advised him of these new charges that he is now facing.
Benoit remains in custody while he waits for a bail hearing.
