CORNWALL, Ontario – Cornwall police arrested a 22-year-old woman accused of shoplifting after she allegedly attempted to bite and spit on loss prevention officers at a Ninth Street store.
According to the Cornwall Community Police Service (CCPS), the suspect stole merchandise as she left the establishment on Tuesday (Oct. 27).
CCPS also alleges that the woman attacked two loss prevention officers during a brief struggle.
Police were contacted and arrived at the scene a short time later.
Symphony Pierce was charged with theft under $5000, assault, and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace.
The suspect was taken to CCPS headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
