Man charged with assaulting girlfriend, her daughter

CORNWALL, Ont. – A Cornwall man is facing six charges, including assault and sexual assault, after an alleged string of incidents dating back to August 2015.

The CCPS Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit arrested the 44-year-old on Wednesday (March 16).

Cornwall police said between August 2015 and January 2016, the accused punched his 45-year-old girlfriend and pushed her 22-year-old daughter.

Police further allege the man damaged a clock, punched a hole in the wall, pushed his girlfriend causing her to fall and seek medical attention, and sexually assaulted her on another occasion.

He faces two counts of assault, two counts of mischief, one count of sexual assault, and one count of assault causing bodily harm.

The accused was held for a bail hearing in a Cornwall courthouse on Friday (March 18).

No names were released to protect the victims’ identities.
