SWENSON – Cecil Hilton

Passed away at the Cornwall Community Hospital, McConnell Site, on Monday, May 19, 2008, age 81 years. Mr. Swenson was a former member of the Canadian Armed Forces. Much-loved husband of 59 years to Nancy (Cook) Swenson. Dear father of Connie Buck (Frank), June Pettinella (Marcel Sabourin), Susan Efthimiou (Mike), Janette Montroy (Dalton), David Swenson (Stephanie Burke), Sheila Cullen (Perry Chiasson), Patrick Swenson (Bonnie), Jerry Swenson and Gary Swenson (Kim Blanchard). We will find comfort knowing he is now reunited with his daughter, Patricia Levac (Ian) who passed away on April 29, 2008. Fondly remembered by his sister, May McTavish, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Mabel (Covey) Swenson and several brothers and sisters. Rested at the Wilson Funeral Home. The Mass of the Resurrection with Commendation and Farewell was celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church on May 23. Rite of Committal followed in Notre Dame Cemetery, Cornwall.

Passed away at the Cornwall Community Hospital, McConnell Site, on Monday, May 19, 2008. Mr. Alphonse Joseph Piché of Cornwall, Ontario, age 85 years. Beloved husband of Eva Theresa (Villeneuve) Piché. Beloved father of Robert (Bob) Piché (Janet) of Cornwall and Bernadette Piché (Kevin) of Wainfleet, Ontario. Cherished grandfather of Andrea, Heather, Félicité, Charlene, Victor and great-grandfather of Thomas, Talon, Grace, Gavin, Hunter and Finn. Dear son of the late Hormidas Piché and the late Donalda (Givogue) Piché. Sadly missed by brothers, Rolland Piché (Claire) and Aurèle Piché (Edna). Predeceased by brothers, Edward, John, Joseph and Dollard and sisters, Albina, Cécile and Bernadette. Mr. Piché was a WWII veteran, serving in the Canadian Army, 17th Hussars from 1941 to 1946. Beloved husband of the late Sadie Frances (McPhee) O’Keefe. Loved father of John O’Keefe (Elizabeth) of St. Andrews West, Frances O’Keefe of Chatham and Cornelius O’Keefe (Judy) of Calgary. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Owen, Lauren, Denys and Mariah O’Keefe. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Passed away at the Ottawa Hospital, General Campus on Saturday, May 10, 2008. Mr. Garrett Lawrence Kevin MacDonell of Cornwall, Ontario, age 68 years. Loving son of the late Hugh MacDonell and the late Oswald MacDonell (née Morris). Dear brother of Alex MacDonell (Ann) of Vankleek Hill, Ontario and Claire Cadieux (Wilfred) of Burlington, Ontario. Predeceased by his brother, Archie MacDonell and his sister Elva Cassidy. Passed away at the Ottawa Hospital (General Campus). He was 84. He leaves his loving wife of 63 years, Yvonne (Patenaude) Paradis. Dear father of Raymond (Anne) of New Liskerd, Jacques (Linda) of Cornwall, Richard (Lucy) of Casselman, Ontario and Francine Paradis of Manotick. Sadly missed by 8 grandchildren, Julie, Kelly, Patrick, Daniel, Marc, Josee, Rennee and Philippe and 6 great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Christopher, Dorothy, Maggie, Cecily and Shawn. Survived by one sister, Angele Lalonde (Rocky) of Cornwall. Predeceased by one son Marcel Jr., his parents Ovila and Anna (Viau) Paradis, 4 brothers, Laurier, Jean, Paul, Fernand, Romuald and 9 sisters, marie Rose, marie Anne, Irene, Gilberthe, Georgette, Estelle, Simone, Madeleine and Rita. Funeral Mass on May 13 at St. Felix-de-Valois Catholic Church. Rite of Committal, St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery, Long Sault, Ontario.

Passed away peacefully at the Elizabeth Bruyere Centre after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at the age of 66 years. Loving wife of Donald. Cherished mother of Jeffrey (Rhonda), Stephen (Amy) and Murray (Audrey). Loving grandmother of Tory, Lauren, Colin, Marion and Lily.
