SARCH, BETTY ANNE (nee Males)

Peacefully at the Ottawa Civic Hospital early on Saturday Dec 26th, 2009 aged 75 years. She leaves behind her loving husband of 54 years, Peter and three sons, Martin, (Laura) of Ottawa, Andrew (Linda) of Ajax and Tim (Hellen) of Toronto. Grandy as she was known to her grand children will be sorely missed by Cody, Devon, Logan, Courtney, Becky, Cameron, Keeley and Jacob. Beloved sister to Keith (Myra) Australia, Barry (Liz) England, Philip (Bronwen) England and Sandy Ogden, England. Predeceased by her loving parents, Roy and Marie Males of England. Also missed dearly by her loving dog ‘Maggie’. Born in England, Betty came to Canada in 1967 and although trained in secretarial work found the opportunity to study nursing and fulfill her ambition of helping others as a Nurses Aid, a position she held until her retirement. A celebration of Betty’s life will take place Sunday, January 10th, 2010 at 2:00 pm at McARTHUR BROS. and MACNEIL FUNERAL HOME and Chapel, 428 Second Street East, Cornwall, 613-932-6300. Family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations would be appreciated by the family to the SD&G Branch of the OSPCA.

Surrounded by her family at home Thursday, December 31, 2009 on her 80th birthday. Bertha Theresa Sullivan (nee O’Connor) of Finch. Beloved wife of Thomas Sullivan. Loved mother of Gerry (Kathy) of Ottawa, Marian Parenteau (Harvey) of Alberta, Cathy Wert (Mike) of Saskatchewan, Steve (Lisa) of Dunnville, Ontario, Dennis (Tammy) of Finch, Pat (Sam), Liam (Chrissy) all of Vancouver, Shona Sullivan of Ottawa and Susie McLean of Ottawa. Dear sister of Hilda Sullivan of Stittsville, Linus O’Connor (Helen) of Ottawa, Rita O’Connor of Gatineau, Gus O’Connor and Elmer O’Connor both of Ottawa. Sadly missed by her 19 grandchildren. Precedeased by her parents William and Sarah (Daley) O’Connor and 2 brothers Eddie and Orville. WARNER, Stuart Milroy

January 1st, 1922 – January 1st, 2010, Peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on January 1st, 2010 in his 89th year. Stuart was the beloved husband of Shirley Margaret (nee Sheets) for 64 years. Sadly missed by his children Robert (Beverley), Elizabeth (Donald) Moxley, Ronald (Lise) and Barbara (Guy) Currier, his seven grandchildren, Heather (Tony) Johnson, Ted, Ginny, Adam (Sue Boisvenue), Tobin, Peter, and Nathaniel, two great-grandchildren, Stuart and Thomas, and by brother-in-law Bill (Vivian) Sheets, sister-in-law Lois (Earl) Markell, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Predeceased by his parents Arthur and Lela (nee Milroy) and his four brothers Roy (the late Jean), Gordon, Lloyd (the late Margaret), and Clifford (the late Ollie), and sister-in-law Betty (the late Ralph) Terriah. Stuart worked at CIL and Cornwall Chemicals for 32 years. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Mary Smar for the tremendous care that Stuart received over the last few years. Survived by grandchildren Callista and MacKenzie of North Vancouver, B.C. and Joshua and Kai of Cambridge. Also survived by 13 nieces and nephews and their families. Mr. George Lalonde peacefully at Hospice Cornwall on Wednesday December 30, 2009 at the age of 74 years. Loving father of Alain Lalonde (Manon), Mississauga, ON; Carol Lalonde of Gatineau, QC and the late Michel Lalonde. Cherished grandfather of Justin, Karine, Francis and Eric Lalonde. Loved son of the late Romeo and Donalda (Bouchard) Lalonde. Dear brother of Claudette Ledoux (Late Marcel) and Monique LeBrun (Robert) both of Cornwall, ON and the late Donald “Doc” Lalonde. PERKINS, Shirley (Née Vranckx) Peacefully with her family by her side after a short and courageous battle with cancer on Thursday December 31, 2009 at the age of 75 years. Survived by her loving husband of 51 years Lyndol (Lyn). Beloved mother of Judy (Greg Milley), Joanne (Philip Varnas), and Lori (Tony Pompeo). Cherished Grandma to Kyle, Kirk, and Scott Milley, and Nicholas, Lisa, and Kyra Pompeo. Dear sister of Rita McEwen, Norma Valois, Bev Shore, Earl Vranckx (Stella), Allen Vranckx (Linda). Predeceased by her parents Bruno and Georgina (Skeith) Vranckx, and her brother Bruno Vranckx Jr. Born in Montreal, Shirley and Lyn resided in Roxboro where they raised their family. In 1996 they moved to Cornwall where they enjoyed the many amenities of a smaller community. Shirley was an avid golfer, curler and bridge player and over the years enjoyed many winters in Florida where she met up with many friends both old and new. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the care Shirley received from her medical staff at the Oncology and Hematology Department at the Ottawa Hospital, as well as the special considerations offered by Scott and Louise McEwen.
