Police raid suspected drug house, arrest three

CORNWALL, Ontario – A police team with advanced training in specialized weapons and tactics found marijuana, cash, cocaine, and oxycodone while executing a drug warrant in the city’s east end.

The Cornwall Street Crime Unit and the Cornwall Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) raided a residence on Carleton Street on April 9.

Sandy MacFarlane, 52, and Samantha Butcher, 39, both of Cornwall, were taken into custody and charged with possession and trafficking of marijuana, cocaine, and oxycodone, and possession of property obtained by crime.

Police allege $ 2,756 in drugs and cash were confiscated: cocaine – 5.2g (street value of $520), marijuana – 205.6g ($2056), oxycodone – 36 pills ($180).

Cornwall resident David Campbell, 41, was also taken into custody for breaching his recognizance for associating with someone known to have a criminal record and someone known to use or sell drugs.

All three were held in custody for a bail hearing on April 10.
