AKWESASNE – The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne announced on Thursday, May 31 that a $5,000 reward is being offered for any information about the A’nowara’kowa Arena fire that took place on Jan. 19, 2018 that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible.

After a preliminary investigation of the fire, the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service (AMPS) and the Hogansburg Hogansburg Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department (HAVFD) determined that the fire was suspicious.

The fire was started in and was contained to one of the locker rooms at around 3 p.m. on Jan. 19. The fire did extensive damage to one of the locker rooms and caused smoke damage throughout the arena.
