SD&G OPP respond to dozens of accidents after snowstorm

UNITED COUNTIES – The first snowstorm of the winter is keeping SD&G OPP busy, responding to 42 spinouts and crashes.

Officers are conducting vehicle removals today (Wednesday, Dec. 30), in partnership with towing operators, on Highway 401, which resulted from the several collisions investigated on Tuesday.

Temporary lane closures and delays are expected.

SD&G OPP have responded to a total of 42 (Stormont-16, Dundas-8, Glengarry-18) calls for service since late Monday night, consisting of collisions and vehicles in ditches and medians.

“Fortunately, all were minor in nature with no injuries reported,” said OPP Const. Joel Doiron.
