CORNWALL, Ontario – Get a taste of Cornwall’s eclectic restaurant scene and burgeoning local breweries at the Seaway Summer Food Festival (SSFF) next month.

For five days, the city’s finest local eateries will entice patrons to enjoy a three-course-meal with a modest price tag of $22 or $28.

Discover a new taste or reconnect with an old favourite at Truffles, Casa Paolo, Eight Zero Zero, Schnitzels, Bar Q, and Moustache Joe’s from Tuesday, July 15 to Saturday, July 19.

No passes, tickets or coupons are required. Diners simply visit their choice from the list of participating restaurants.

I think summer is a perfect time, amidst all the activities, to remind people that there are good restaurants and breweries right here in the area, and amazing people behind them,” said Sebastien Manigat, organizer of the festival.

The unique event wraps up with a BierGarden at the Jet Set Pub (NAV Centre, 1950 Montreal Road) on July 19, at 3 p.m.

The beer and wine tasting event will feature regional beers, as well as a ‘food truck’ style menu from chef Lucas McCabe.

Price of admission to the BierGarden will be announced on the festival’s website www.ssff.ca.

Participating breweries include Beau’s All Natural Brewing Company, Cassel Brewery, and Labatt Breweries of Canada.

“This is a social gathering where the emphasis is on discovery, shared experiences, fun, and of course summer sun,” said Manigat.

The SSFF website and social media channels are designed to make the festival an interactive experience. Watch for contests on the event’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

“We want people to share their pictures and statuses and in turn release their inner foodie,” he said.
