April 15, 2024 – As this week marks National Volunteer Week, the Great River Ontario Health Team (GR OHT) proudly acknowledges the important contributions of its Lived Experience Partners Table (LEPT) in demonstrating the power of collaboration and co-design in the development of healthcare. With deep gratitude, GR OHT recognizes the dedication and insights of LEPT members, whose efforts are helping to enhance the local healthcare landscape in Eastern Ontario.

At GR OHT, we understand the significance of incorporating diverse perspectives into healthcare initiatives. “The LEPT serves as a platform for individuals from various backgrounds to share their unique experiences,” stated Diane Plourde, Executive Transformation Lead, “demonstrating the power of collaboration and co-design in the development of healthcare programs and services aimed at improving access, quality, and coordination of care for all.”

The GR OHT is actively seeking community members who have experience in managing chronic health conditions in themselves, or in a loved one, to become members of its Lived Experience Partners Table. Members can commit to different levels of involvement, depending on availability.  The time required of a member will vary depending on the level of involvement you choose. While this is a volunteer position, successful candidates will qualify to receive an honorarium and reimbursement for other expenses where appropriate. Applicants will be assessed based on their experience, and underrepresented groups will be prioritized to ensure a diversity of voices are included.
