SOUTH GLENGARRY, Ontario – Beyond 21 held their annual Spring Show and House Tour this past Sunday, June 25.
Five homeowners opened their hearts and their homes to the public in support of Beyond 21 and residents were eager to take the tours and support the cause.
“We have never ever sold this many tickets before,” said Beyond 21 President Tish Humphries.
One home open for the tour was a former Montessori school on Johnson Rd. just outside of Williamstown and it is now the home of Carolyn and David Meldrum.
The Meldrums moved into the home five years ago and inside there is really a nautical feel. The living room is decorated with ships. Whether they be paintings, or sculptures, there are ships prominently featured in the home.
It is just one of the things that makes the house unique. The great cause of Beyond 21 and different flavours and personalities that each home has on display truly makes this fundraiser worth contributing to.
There was food in every home, including cookies from Sweet Indulgences and other baked goods from Starbucks.
For their part, the Meldrums were happy to open up their home on Sunday.
“It is such a great cuase and you are honoured to do it,” said David.
Happening at the same time at the Williamstown Fair Grounds was the Beyond 21 Spring Show.
There were around 30 vendors and Beyond 21 Executive Director Jane MacLaren said that the show had a bigger turnout in the first hour than they did all day last year.
The next big event for Beyond 21 is Cornwall Food Fest happening Aug. 19.
