CORNWALL, Ontario – On Thursday, July 13 Food Fest planted their sign and reminded everyone that this year will be the biggest yet.
The Food Fest sign was planted in Pommier Square, the usual site of the Kinsmen Family Zone.
This year, Food Fest is partnering with two other popular events and together they will offer a day of fun in Cornwall from the St. Lawrence River, along Pitt St., right up to Third St.
The festivities will start around 10 a.m. on Aug. 19 and go until 8 p.m.
Down by the water in Lamoureux Park with be CoTiCon or Cornwall’s Tiny Convention. CoTiCon is a showcase for cosplayers, video gamers and geeks of all stripes.
From the park up to First Street will be the Kinsmen Wheels in Motion Car Show.
And from First Street to Thirs Street will be the Cornwall Food Dest. There will be live musical entertainment from the likes of Bang on the Ear, The Campbell Trio and Eric and Grace Willison. Also there will be vendors of all sorts including 30 plus artisans and over 14 food trucks.
New this year will be the Ontario 150 Culture Stage funding by the Ontario Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sport.
This stage will see presentations and performances from the likes of the Native North American Travelling College and The County Lads.
Money raised by Food Fest will go to support Beyond 21. The Hub for Beyond 21 works with adults with developmental disabilities to help them gain skills, connect with their community and achieve their dreams. Currently Beyond 21 supports over 4, 000 participants throughout the year.
