CORNWALL, Ontario – Rachel’s Kids have announced that the Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie campaign raised nearly $67,000 for them this year.

“We are so proud of our Community and how everyone came together during the 2018 Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie Campaign in support of our Charity,” said Kim Lauzon, Executive Director for Rachel’s Kids.  “We are extremely grateful and humbled to have been chosen once again as the recipients to the proceeds from Smile Cookie.“

Rachel’s Kids exceeded their total from last year. All money raised through this fundraiser will remain in the community.

The money was raised during the week of Sept. 17. Any purchase of a Smile Cookie that week went to support Rachel’s Kids.

“We are amazed on how many people have agreed to help us exceed last year’s goal of $40,618,” said Lauzon. “We had schools take part in selling cookies, local businesses challenge each other in sales and significant pillars in our community take part in creative and unconventional ways to sell Smile Cookies on our behalf.  The response has been incredible and because of each and every one who sold a cookie, bought a cookie, ate a cookie and took selfies, you’ve all played a part in supporting our cause by raising awareness and of course a grand total of $66,949.”

Programs that will be supported by this fundraiser include “Small Moments of Joy” through which Rachel’s Kids grants wishes to children in special circumstances and “Helping Hands” which provides support to families with a child suffering from a severe or chronic illness.
