CORNWALL, Ontario – With just over 50 days to go before that special day, Cornwall’s Civic Complex was the place to be to get in the holiday spirit this weekend, with the Heritage Valley Christmas Craft Show taking place all weekend. Running all day on Saturday, Nov. 2 and Sunday, Nov. 3, the long running craft show offered holiday shoppers a wide array of unique, individually made gifts to put under the tree for your loved ones.
“Everything here is homemade, it’s all made by the crafters,” said lead organizer, Bertha Poitras. “We have a variety of things to choose from. We have wood, we have sewing, we have jams, chocolates, almost anything you need you can find it here.”
Now in its 43rd year, Poitras noted that this year’s event included roughly 75 vendors. With somewhere between 1,200 and 1,300 shoppers coming to the Complex on Saturday alone – some from as far away as Maseena and Montreal, – the craft show has become a staple shopping stop for many.
The event offers families a perfectly unique, and locally focused way to kick-start the Christmas cheer and get your shopping done early. At 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3, Santa Clause arrived at the craft show, offering photographs for children and families.
