Passed away at the Cornwall Community Hospital, McConnell Site on Friday, January 2, 2009, age 84 years. Beloved husband of Cecile (Julien) Brownlee. Dear father of Jean Laplante (Daniel) of Lunenburg, Ontario, Linda Wells (Keith), Ken Brownlee (late Marlene) and Doris Lefave (Ron), all of Cornwall, Ontario, Garry Brownlee (Brenda) of Ingleside, Ontario, Robert Brownlee (Brenda), Dianne Tessier (Mike), Albert Brownlee (Holly), Gwen Collingridge (Daryl) and Rosan Brownlee, all of Cornwall and Tim Brownlee (Donna) of Long Sault, Ontario. Passed away at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, on Thursday, January 1, 2009, age 87 years. Predeceased by her husband, Joseph E. Hickman. Dear daughter of the late Alexander and Emily (Kemp) Lennie. Loving mother of David (Carolyn), Dale (Sylvie) and John (Donna). Peacefully at Woodland Villa, Long Sault on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 Sydney Herbert Masters of Morrisburg, formerly of Montreal in his 92nd year. Sydney was a Chartered Engineer of the Royal Aeronautical Society and retired as Chief Engineer of the Helicopter and Systems Division of Pratt & Whitney Aircraft of Canada Ltd. Beloved husband of the late Constance Masters (2007). Loving father of Norma (Tom) Ogryzlo of Costa Rica and daughter-in-law Lynn of Gibsons, BC. Dear grandfather of Michael (Christin) of New York, David (Sheila) of Oakville, Karen (Shannon) of Portland, Oregon; Kevin (Kate) of Edmonton, Christopher (Jennifer) of Calgary, KerriLynn (Rob) of Edmonton. Sydney is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, one sister Rose (Jim) Hewer and sister-in-law Rosalind Berry, both of England. Predeceased by his son Keith, sister Elmer Nevins and brother Jim. Rested at the Parker Funeral Home, Morrisburg. The graveside service was held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Morrisburg on Friday, January 2, 2009. Rev. Paul Donison officiated.

LEGGE – Clarence Augustus

Passed away at the St. Joseph’s Villa, Cornwall, Ontario, on Wednesday, December 24, 2008, age 89 years. Son of the late Frederick and Emma Legge. Predeceased by his wife Florence. He is survived by his daughters, Barbara (Chester Coish) of Toronto, Ontario, Cathy (Mike Wald) of Keswick, Ruby (George Emberley) of Newfoundland, his sons, Wilfred (Jenny) of Apple Hill, Ontario, Ralph (late Hazel) of Newfoundland, Joseph of Toronto, Mike (Karen) of Beeton and Larry (Chrystal) of Ottawa, Ontario. Survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a brother, Eric (Ruby) and sister Ruby Freake (Wes), both of Newfoundland. He will be greatly missed by his friend, Gladys Woods. Clarence was predeceased by a son, Alvin, his brothers, Harry, Jim and Martin, his sisters, Violet, Pearl, Barb and Edna. A Memorial Service was held in the Chapel of McArthur Bros. & MacNeil Funeral Home, Cornwall, on Dec. 31. Spring Interment, Woodlawn Cemetery, Cornwall.

DENNENY – Wallace

Passed away at the Cornwall Community Hospital, McConnell Site on Wednesday, December 24, 2008. Mr. Wallace Bryce Denneny of Cornwall, Ontario, age 80 years. Beloved husband of the late Ruth Ann Denneny (née Fensom). Loving father of Wanda Kerr (Stephen) of Oshawa, Ontario, Donald Denneny (Laura) and Charles Denneny (Joanne), both of Cornwall. Step-father of Robert (Bobby) Denneny (Darlene) of Oshawa and Danny Bond (Louise) of Keswick. Survived by sisters, Francis Gilks, Helen Wotherspoon (Jim) and brothers, Donald (Anita) and Lorenzo (Patricia). Dear son of the late Frank Denneny and the late Wilda Denneny (née Bailey). Survived by 13 grandchildren, Steven, Mark, Brian, Amanda, Donnie, Nicole, Robert Jr., Jeffery, John, Ryan, Billy, Jason and J.R. and by 12 great-grandchildren, Christian, Amanda, Sarah, Cameron, Derek, Emily, Hailey, Shyann, Bryanna, Liberty, Aidian and Wyatt. Funeral Arrangements were under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Home Ltd., Lancaster, Ontario. A celebration of Mr. Denneny’s life was celebrated in the Chapel of the Funeral Home on Dec. 29. The Rev. Gary Stokes officiated.
