CORNWALL, Ontario – On Thursday, Dec. 12, the United Way of SD&G and their sponsors drew the name of the lucky winner of the United Way Celebration Sleigh.
The sleigh has been at Baxtrom’s Your Independent Grocer for the past few weeks and residents have had the chance to buy tickets to be entered into a draw for the prize.
The Celebration Sleigh contained $1,000 in cash and $1,000 in gift cards for Baxtrom’s, Canadian Tire, the LCBO and Esso.
The winner of the Celebration Sleigh was Shamus Marleau.
The Celebration Sleigh was sponsored by BMO with Baxtrom’s and Canadian Tire as site sponsors.
The United Way of SD&G also drew the winner of their Change for Change competition. Donors who made a $20 contribution or more were entered to win a prize of $2,000. Liz McLean was the lucky winner who’s name was picked for the $2,000.
