Cornwall will benefit from an injection of money from the Ontario government designed to help remedy a shortage of medical professionals.
“This investment in the expansion of primary care teams in Eastern Ontario will benefit our region. The funding for expansion services in Cornwall will help three interprofessional teams to work together to provide necessary healthcare. This brings us one step closer to making sure no one in our community is left behind in our healthcare system,” said Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry MPP Nolan Quinn.
Funds were part of a $22 million envelope the province announced Thursday. The money is to connect more than 73,000 people to primary care teams in Eastern Ontario. The money will be spread across a region that includes Ottawa, Brockville and Kingston.
