Teen charged with assault with a weapon

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 14-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on Oct.28, 2019 and charged with assault with a weapon and mischief under $5,000. It is alleged on Oct. 28, the youth threw a computer at someone known to him, as well as damaged various items in his residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ASSAULT, THREATS

CORNWALL, Ontario– A 14-year-old Embrun youth was arrested on Oct. 28, 2019 and charged with assault and threats. It is alleged on Oct. 28, the youth assaulted and made threats to harm someone known to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

WARRANT, BREACH

CORNWALL, Ontario – Alexander Green, 29, of Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 28, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to sign in to police on multiple days, despite his conditions, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On Oct. 28, 2019, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant during a traffic stop, at which time police located the man to be in possession of a knife, despite his conditions to not possess any weapons. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

PUBLIC MISCHIEF, BREACH

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 32-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Oct. 28, 2019 and charged with public mischief and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged in June 2019, the man had reported that his girlfriend’s ex-husband had breached his conditions by having contact with her. An investigation ensued and the incident was later determined to be unfounded. On Oct. 28, 2019, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
