The Tourism Development Corporation of Cornwall (TDCC) is pleased to announce its first 2 rounds of successful funding for 2022 of tourism initiatives in Cornwall and area.

A total of $83,789.60 has been invested in the community from the Tourism Development Fund, allowing businesses and event organizers to increase marketing outside the City as well as improve the overall tourist experience. 2022 is shaping up to be a grand year for tourism, with the highly anticipated return of many of the local festivals and events.

The TDCC received 9 applications from January to April and was able to provide funding to all applicants. The awarded funds were allocated as follows:

•Festival Sportif de Cornwall – $3,140
•Glengarry Highland Games – $15,500
•Cornwall 1784 – $15,574
•Cape 2022 – $15,000
•Rock the River – $5,235
•Cornwall Waterfest – $9,465
•UELAC Head Quarters Relocation
– $4,875
•Cottan Candy Classic – $5,000
•Perch Magazine – $10,000

The Tourism Development Fund is generated from the proceeds of the Municipal Accommodation Tax. The approximate amount of funding available for 2022 is estimated at $300,000 and the intake of applications is on going throughout the year.

Eligibility for funding is outlined on CornwallTourism.com, and interested parties can contact Amy Malyon, Tourism Coordinator for further assistance with the application process if required. Applicants are required to submit their application at least three months in advance of their project date.
