CORNWALL, Ontario – The tale of the Easter Bunny continued to grow in Cornwall as hundreds of local families lined up to meet the furry, giant-eared, candy-carrying holiday mascot.
The MacDonalds are ready to celebrate Easter this Sunday with family, a huge supper, and of course, an egg hunt. But before that happens, Keegan, 6, Shelby, 4, and Khloe, 3, had to participate in an annual tradition.
Sherri and Michael MacDonald watched as their three children excitedly perched themselves on the Easter Bunny’s lap at the Cornwall Square on Saturday, April 19.
Their main objectives: meet a larger-than-life celebrity and uncover where the Easter eggs will be hidden.
“They have been going crazy all day to meet the Easter Bunny,” said Sherri. “We come every year.”
The popular event gave hundreds of families the opportunity to capture a fun-filled memory at no cost, as children walked away with free Easter-themed candies and colouring books.
“We love this Easter tradition at Cornwall Square,” said Jennifer MacIsaac, the mall’s marketing director.
Natalie McDonell and her five-year-old daughter Kale travelled from Williamstown to shop in the Seaway City and meet the bunny of the hour.
“This is a big day for me,” said Kale. “I love the Easter Bunny.”
