INGLESIDE, Ontario – Evans Bus Lines has expanded to offer commuter services from Ingleside to Ottawa as of Nov. 1, 2019.

South Stormont Council supported the company’s Public Vehicle Operating Licence application to the Ontario Highway Transportation Board in July during a regular council meeting. Peter Young, Director of Planning, Building and Economic Development is happy to see the project is now underway.

“I just got word they were approved for that (licence) and are just trying to finalize some parking arrangements,” said Young. “I’m sure it takes a little while to get the ridership…but they saw a need and there are a lot of commuters (from the area) going to Ottawa.”

A bus schedule, posted here, outlines morning pick-up time in Ingleside at 5:45 a.m. and arrival in the south end of Ottawa at 7:08 a.m. with commuters set to reach the furthest stop, Tunney’s Pasture, at 7:43 a.m. The departure from our nation’s capital begins at 4 p.m. at Tunney’s Pasture, with arrival back in Ingleside set for 6:15 p.m.

To access monthly services from Ingleside to Ottawa, a month pass is available for $360. One-way trips are available for $25 and 10 one-way tickets can be purchased for $150.

“Starting the first of November we are now officially serving South Stormont!…Looking forward to seeing our very own neighbours in our home community! We would also like to send a big thank you to all those who helped us help you,” read a statement on Evans Bus Lines Facebook page.

An Evans Bus Lines representative was contacted but unable to comment before the time of publication. More information on the services, including which days of the week they are offered, will be updated as it becomes available.
