Cornwall man allegedly robs delivery driver at knife point

CORNWALL, Ontario – Shaine Robertson, 31, of Cornwall was arrested on Nov. 9, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. He was also charged with the following:

  • Robbery with a weapon
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Threats
  • Theft of a motor vehicle
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Break and enter x 3
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Obstruct police
  • Breach of probation x 5 (fail to keep the peace)
  • Breach of recognizance x 4 (fail to remain in residence and reside at a certain address)

It is alleged the man breached his probation and a warrant was issued for his arrest. It is further alleged throughout the month of October, the man forced his way into multiple businesses in the City of Cornwall. On Nov. 6, 2018, the man allegedly demanded money from a delivery driver, all the while holding a knife and making threats to harm him. The man subsequently took the delivery driver’s vehicle and police were contacted to investigate. On Nov. 9, 2018, police were called to investigate a theft at a Second Street East business, at which time the man was located and falsely identified himself to police. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
