Cornwall man facing weapons charges

SOUTH GLENGARRY, Ontario – On Nov. 9, 2018 at approximately 11:57 p.m., Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to an unwanted person call on Ruth Ave. in South Glengarry Township.

he investigation revealed an adult male was in possession of a weapon when ordered not to do so at the location.

The male, James McDonald, 58, of Cornwall, ON was arrested and charged with:

–             Careless storage of firearm

–             Possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order ( 2 counts)

–             Unauthorized possession of a firearm

–             Being intoxicated in public place (liquor licence act)

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on Dec, 5, 2018.
