Local teens, just 14, end up in drunken knife fight

CORNWALL, Ontario – A pair of local girls, just 14, got drunk and ended up in a knife fight, said Cornwall police Tuesday.

The girls, one each from Cornwall and Akwesasne, were arrested on Jan. 4 and charged with multiple criminal code offences.

It is alleged that in the early morning hours of that day the two intoxicated youths, who are known to each other, entered into an argument and assaulted each other with a knife.

Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

During their investigation the two youths were taken into custody. One of the youths was charged with:

  • Assault
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possess Weapons Dangerous
  • Fail to comply with youth probation order for failing to keep the peace
  • Breach of OIC Undertaking x 2 for failing to keep the peace and being in possession of a knife

While the other youth was charged with:

  • Assault
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possess Weapons Dangerous

Both sustained minor injuries and will appear in court at a later date. Their names were not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
