Man charged after Cadillac lands in St. Lawrence River

CORNWALL, Ontario – Provincial police have laid charges against the 21-year-old South Dundas man who ditched his 2005 Cadillac in the St. Lawrence River after crashing it into a guardrail and a private dock on Lakeshore Drive in Morrisburg shortly before 11 p.m. on September 10.

SDG OPP identified the driver as Nathan Tibben on September 11.

He was charged with failing to remain at scene of an accident, fail to report accident, careless driving, and having care or control of a motor vehicle with an open container of alcohol.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on November 18 to face Highway Traffic Act (HTA) and Liquor Licence Act (LLA) charges.
