SOUTH DUNDAS, Ontario – On Nov. 23, 2019, shortly before 1 p.m., officers from the Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a body being located in the St.Lawrence River by scuba divers.
SD&G OPP responded to the Gallop Canal Iroquois Marina to investigate. The
OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) attended the scene and recovered a 20 year-old male of Ottawa, Ontario from the water.
A post mortem is being conducted to determine cause of death.
OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and the Office of the Chief Coroner will continue the investigation with the assistance of the SD&G OPP Crime unit.
