CORNWALL, Ontario – Over 450 cyclists took to the streets around 8 a.m., embarking just outside of Ottawa at Larry Robinson Arena, and pedalled through a multitude of townships until they reached NAV Centre on Saturday, Aug. 17 for the MS Bike.

The MS Bike, a two-day event, saw fund raisers travelling distances ranging from 80 to 215 kms according to Derick Ramsdale with MS Bike. Cyclists made their way through Marionville, Crylser, Finch and Long Sault before ending their day in our city.

Cyclists were also tasked with raising funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, with approx. $500,000 raised this year.

“We had so a real variety of ages and skill levels with us this year, with our oldest rider being 87 and our youngest rider at 7-years-old,” said Ramsdale. “You also have some cyclists that are sponsored and more professional, and some who are just getting into the sport.”

Cyclists will resume their ride on Sunday, Aug. 18 to return to Ottawa.
