CORNWALL, Ontario – Environment Canada issued a weather warning for Eastern Ontario on Tuesday morning

The warning said that the region could expect between 40-60 millimeters of rainfall starting Tuesday afternoon or early evening and continuing until Wednesday morning.

Accompanying the rain will be a few thunderstorms and Environment Canada did not rule out the possibility of some flooding.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible,” said the weather warning.

Environment Canada blames the severe weather on a slow-moving low-pressure system moving up from Texas. They went on to encourage residents to monitor their website.
