CORNWALL, Ontario – While freezing rain is being forcasted for the entire region North of Cornwall and SD&G, this region can expect thunderstorms instead according to The Weather Network.
Warm temperatures on Thursday melted much of the snow on the ground and could contribute to hazardous conditions when mixed with rain and below freezing temperatures forecasted for throughout the day on Friday.
Environment Canada has not issued a Freezing Rain warning for Cornwall at the time of writing this, they have issued warnings for Prescott-Russell and the whole region to their North right into Quebec.
While temperatures will be near the freezing mark for most of Friday, residents in Cornwall and SD&G can expect rain fall with the possibility of thunderstorms.
Any remaining ice and snow on the ground will likely disappear Saturday as temperatures are expected to climb to nearly 20, before falling again to the low single digits.
