When Dallas Fawcett arrived at Winchester District Memorial Hospital (WDMH) on January 1st, 2021, she had no idea she was starting a trend. Dallas was the first WDMH baby of 2021 – and there would be 795 more arrivals in the next twelve months, including six sets of twins. This is the highest number of babies born in one year at WDMH!
One year later, Mom Shelby Fraser-Clouthier says she is still grateful for the wonderful care: “I could not have done it without such an incredible team – every nurse, Dr. Deeb and Ashley, my midwife. Thank you more than I can ever express! Dallas is doing great.”
“We just celebrated Family Day, so it seems like a perfect time to celebrate a special year in the Family Birthing Unit,” says Dr. Roger Perron, Chief of Obstetrics. “I’m proud of our team of nurses, midwives, doctors, administrators, and everyone who helps to provide care for families in our region.”
Dr. Gerry Rosenquist remembers the Obstetrics Unit when he came on staff in 1960: “We had 11 doctors and all of them delivered babies. Over the years, word continued to get around that WDMH was a great place to have your baby. The medical and nursing staff should be proud, but it goes further – the whole hospital is a friendly and welcoming place.”
Welcome to all the WDMH babies born in 2021 – and congratulations to their families!
