Man arrested at high school

A 35-year-old Scarborough man has been arrested after a man wielding an edged weapon threatened several people at Holy Trinity Catholic School in South Glengarry shortly before 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 6. The school was locked down as Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers used a taser to subdue the suspect. There were no injuries to school staff or students.

The man has been charged with assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, mischief, possession of an imitation weapon for dangerous purpose,causing a disturbance and common nuisance.The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall at a later date.
