FOOD COURT NEWS and MORE.…. NIGHT MARKET & CORUS CARING HEARTS RADIOTHON……

Did you know that this Friday August 18th, the “Cornwall NIGHT MARKET” will take place downtown, and this time, Cornwall Square will participate and most of the mall stores will be open until 9:00pm including the Food Hall quick service restaurants: Tim Hortons, Wok Express, Sip & Scoop and Cedars.  The 2 newest restaurants, Daily Chuck and Juntos are almost ready to open but staff training is ongoing with the new recipes and the new equipment.  At a recent recipe taste test by yours truly, Chef Luc and Sous Chef Mark have worked their magic and your taste buds will soon have a BIG smile.

Did you know that Corus Caring Hearts Radiothon in support of the Cornwall Community Hospital is taking place here at Cornwall Square on Thursday August 24th from 6:00am to 7:00pm on the main level of the mall in the centre court.  Whether you are an early bird or a night hawk you can come and join us in person or by phone and donate in support of the Cornwall Community Hospital.  One only has to think how critical the Cornwall Community Hospital is to the City of Cornwall and the surrounding area.  We, here at Cornwall Square, have on many occasions needed to call in the paramedics to attend for an incident involving customers who have become dizzy, have been in distress with mobility issues and even gone into cardiac arrest and the proximity of Cornwall Community Hospital to The Square has been an important factor in those customers’ outcome.

Did you know that the ownership of Cornwall Square, Weaving Baskets Group, recently opened a new restaurant in the South Lancaster/East Summerstown area called the Perch & Paddle Pub adjacent to Mac’s Marina off of Highway 2.  Having gone a couple of times with my better half, Donna, we can attest to the yumminess, (I hope “yumminess” is a word), of the menu.  You simply have to try the “Mozzarella Log” appetizer, an oversized mozzarella stick over 6 inches long and an inch in diameter rolled in a crumb coating fried to perfection.  If you really want to reward your taste buds, order either the Lobster Mac & Cheese or the Fish & Chips (a giant piece of Halibut and a ton of fries) as the main course and be ready to waddle out going AAAH.

Did you know that Spirit Halloween took possession of their space this past Monday and are now working on the store set up.  The store hopes to open prior to the end of August.

Did you know that Calendar Club and Hickory Farms have decided to dissolve their “combo store concept” for Cornwall and are going their separate ways with each of Hickory Farms and Calendar Club opening their individual seasonal store here at Cornwall Square by mid-November that will operate until the end of December.
