CORNWALL, Ontario – The World of Whisky show is growing off of last year’s success.
This year will see more events, more master classes and more titans from the whisky world come to Cornwall to celebrate the brown spirit.
World of Whisky show creator Ian Bentley Is excited that these renowned whisky connoisseurs are coming to the Nav Centre and are coming to Cornwall.
Taking place on Saturday, March 24, there are 500 tickets in total for this year’s World of Whisky show and so far, 300 are already sold as of Jan.18.
Starting at 1 p.m. and throughout the afternoon will be the Whisky Master Classes. There are three times the master classes at this year’s show than there were in 2017.
Master classes include a class for “The Whisky Explorer” presented by Cornwall’s own Mike Brisebois, Kilchoman – A Liquid History with Emmett Hossack (whiskyscores.com), the Lost Taste of Speyside with Bill Somerville, Whisky Family Feud with the Whisky Lassie, Johanne McInnis and many more.
In addition to teaching the master classes, notable names from the whiskey world will be at the show this year including Davin de Kergommeaux, founder and chairman of the Canadian Whiskey Awards, Tish Harcus, Brand Ambassador for Canadian Club, Willie Nelson (not that one) Regional Sales Manager for Phillips Distilling, Matt Jones- Whiskey Ambassador with Beam Suntory, Cameron Miller- Portfolio Ambassador Edrington and, as mentioned, Mike Brisebois.
Brisebois is a Cornwall native who has gone on to become a malt specialist and North American Brand Ambassador for Distell Distilleries which include Bunnahabhain Islay Distillery, Deanston Distillery, and Tobermory Distillery.
Bentley explained that he is looking forward to welcoming the world of whiskey to Cornwall and to put on a great show for Cornwall residents.
